Language Arts
This year in Language Arts class, we have read the novel "Before We Were Free" by Julia Alvarez. It was a book set in South America, and we read it when we were learning and studying about South America in Social Studies. We did a lot of Harkness Discussions on this book and topic too. Anyways, "Before We Were Free" was about a girl named Anita and her miserable life, and want to go to the States. We also read some short stories by famous authors, like "The Landlady" by Road Dahl, "A Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe, and another story called "The Most Dangerous Game." We each had projects with these stories; for "Before We Were Free," we had to make a project from the media and write a theme analysis essay. For "The Most Dangerous Game," we had to write a literary analysis. For "The Landlady," we had to do a diagram or image that represents the story's structure with a bit of a twist. Of those, my Literary Analysis for "The Most Dangerous Game" and the Harkness Discussion are shown under this tab.
